A report for Unicef UK examining the security risks  created by the intersection and reinforcement of challenges posed by climate change and large youth populations:

Both climate change and youthful population age structures can affect factors that shape the security environment and influence the risk of violence. Without adequate planning and preparation, the combined challenges of growing youth populations1 and climate impacts could multiply security risks in regions already vulnerable to poor governance and social and political instability.
