The Dietary Guidelines for Americans are set to be updated and published in 2015. The Guidelines  hold tremendous implications for US nutrition policies, food procurement programs and education initiatives.

This year the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee, the independent scientific body tasked with advising the US Department of Agriculture and the US Department of Health and Human Services, has recommended including considerations of sustainability in the 2015 Guidelines. The Committee highlights the synergies between a healthy and a sustainable diet.

Show your support for keeping sustainability in the final 2015 edition of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans by submitting a comment on the health.gov website before May 8. To submit a comment, click here, and after filling out your personal information select the following ‘Topics”:
