“Two California artists are creating public sculptures that heal damaged ecosystems and eventually disappear back into nature.”

Daniel McCormick and Mary O’Brien create sculptures within compromised environments, like riparian habitats along the Truckee and Carson rivers in Nevada, that serve to restore ecological balance. The artists design the sculptures with feedback from experts on habitat restoration and enlist hundreds of local volunteers for their construction.
