A truly international university is measured not only by its rankings or research output, but also by its ability to attract students from around the world to study, conduct research, and experience new cultures on its campus. Duy Tan University (DTU) is increasingly demonstrating this global appeal, as more and more international students choose Da Nang and DTU as destinations for their academic journeys.
To date, 171 international students have participated in formal academic programs at DTU, including 31 students enrolling in short-term exchange programs. In addition, 735 international students have visited the university through cultural exchange programs, while another 439 have taken part in exchange activities within the Passage to ASEAN (P2A) network. These figures reflect DTU’s growing appeal as an international academic destination in Central Vietnam.

International students come to DTU through a wide range of programs. From an academic perspective, the Global Exchange Program and P2A Hybrid Mobility Program enable students to earn academic credits in a multicultural learning environment. Programs with a strong practical focus, including the 2×2 Internship Project with Kanazawa University in Japan, the Kushiro Kosen Student Study Visit Program, INCiTE Summer School 2024, and the Blue Ladder Program, provide students with valuable opportunities to gain hands-on experience and connect their studies with real-world practice. Students from Germany, South Korea, Australia, and Malaysia have also studied at DTU through exchange programs with partner institutions such as Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University, Sun Moon University, Queensland University of Technology, and Universiti Teknologi MARA. A particularly noteworthy development is DTU’s expanding engagement with European institutions. Students from the University of Angers in France have participated in DTU’s Tourism Semester Exchange Program, demonstrating the university’s growing appeal not only within the ASEAN region but also among its Western partners.

International students themselves offer the most authentic perspectives on their experiences at DTU. Rose Djedidi, a student from the University of Angers, shared: “I have always wanted to pursue a career in International Business. Studying and living in Vietnam, particularly at DTU, has therefore been an invaluable experience, helping me gain a deeper understanding of Asian markets and better prepare for my future career. As one of the first students from the University of Angers to study at DTU, I came here not only as an exchange student but also to serve as a bridge between cultures. I believe these real-world experiences have not only broadened my perspective but also inspired my passion for research and reinforced the importance of academic exchange in developing a global mindset.”
These students’ experiences demonstrate that DTU is steadily becoming an increasingly attractive academic destination for international students, a place where education goes hand in hand with cultural discovery and the development of a global perspective. Looking ahead, by continuing to expand its international partnerships and diversify its programs for incoming students, DTU is expected to further strengthen its position as a leading center for international education in Central Vietnam.
