American Values Coalition event – Thursday, June 23rd at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT – Message from our Executive Director

I believe that one of the most powerful ways to foster high-impact change is to work with diverse groups—especially those that are too often generalized as being “the other”.

The American Values Coalition is an organization created by a politically conservative group of thought leaders. The AVC … reaches out to evangelical and centrist conservatives to provide them with accurate information about COVID, voter suppression, January 6th, and other issues. The aim is to build membership and trust, equip people with understanding and information, and motivate them to counter bogus information in their families, congregations, and friend networks.”

This webinar (details below) is a report from a fundamentalist Christian pastor who has completed AVC’s training and is working with his congregation to redefine world views.

Greetings,

Like many of you, we are appalled, but not surprised by the facts coming out of the January 6th hearings.

Last Thursday night, millions of Americans tuned in and watched as congressional leaders laid out the facts and implications of the Big Lie – from the multipronged and lengthy discrediting of the election to the storming of our Capitol building. All but one major news network aired the first hearing – Fox News. Documenting this stain on our democracy for the historical record is essential, but we know that the media coverage is not going to change the minds of the most affected.

The fight against misinformation is more urgent and important than ever. So we are writing to invite you to our next American Values Coalition event – on Thursday, June 23rd at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT – to hear directly from Pastor Chris Hutchinson, who attended one of our pastor workshops, on the problems he is seeing in his community and AVC’s strategies for changing the tide.

We’ve been busy the last few months – conducting our first in-person pastor conference with close to sixty pastors in Amarillo, TX; publishing a weekly newsletter; and re-launching the PAC, Vote Values, to support pro-democracy candidates in the primary and general elections.

Please click here to RSVP to the event and a Zoom link will be emailed to you. For any questions, please reach out to Hannah Dugan at hannah@bhstrategiesllc.com.

Please feel free to invite your friends.

Best,

Neal Rickner
