In the search for alternative solutions to bring about more sustainable economies, the circular economy (CE) concept has become a popular model in many parts of the world. Join us in learning from Dr. Elisha Ochungo on how he and the team at Centre for Science and Technology Innovations are underlining African environmental ethics to develop bio-circular economic models for change.

Dr. Elisha Akech Ochungo will explore with us the emerging concept of a circular bio-economy, a model for the future that brings respect, dependence and connection to the environment into economic modeling.  Dr. Ochungo is the founder and principal of Climate Change & Sustainability Basics, a biocapacity measuring institute in Kenya.

  4. Dr. Catherine Sang (2 min), University of Nairobi Institute for Climate Change and Adaptation (ICCA) Postdoctoral Research Fellow for the Development Corridors Partnership (DCP) will respond on the need for a better understanding of water basin hydrological flows and capacity for water reuse.
  5. TBD from Biodiversity sector (2 min) will respond with opportunities for collaboration on creating and mainstreaming accounting practices for natural capital valuation systems in Africa
  6. Mr. John Kalungi Kabuye (2 min), Principal Consultant, Built Environment Surveyors and Infrastructure Consultancy (BESIC) Group will respond with opportunities for collaboration on EDGE certified green buildings and locally manufactured green building products.
