Photographer Joel Sartore has set out to photographic every captive species on Earth for his project Photo Ark. The Racing Extinction film and initiative featured Sartore’s work and how it plays a critical role in raising awareness for endangered species like the grasshopper sparrow.
A lot of the time these pictures that I do are the only national coverage these animals will ever get before they go extinct. This is it. This is their one chance. —Joel Sartore
