I agree with James Alcock about the virtues of a Carbon Tax. However, I doubt that a Carbon Tax is a panacea that will save Planet Earth – see, e.g., my MAHB post “Would a Carbon Tax Alone Save Life on Planet Earth? Probably Not: Overpopulation Must Also Be Addressed” at  http://stanford.io/11jEOGS . See also Hake (2013).

Can be attributed to the actions of humans,
Then this is positive proof that the human population,
      Living as we do,
Has exceeded the carrying capacity of the Earth.”

      Dear Richard Grossman,
Thanks for your interest in “Twenty-eight Quotes Relevant to Overpopulation.”
The link that I gave  http://bit.ly/TeOpJj works ok for me, and (I hope) for most others.
It’s conceivable that your mail/server system rejects bit.ly shortened links.  If so you might try the unshortened link http://listserv.aera.net/scripts/wa.exe?A2=AERA-L;58c1f00a.1212
      Regards,
