We Like to Believe Science is the Ultimate Trump Card. Time to Think Again.
We may like to believe in a comforting image of scientists marching toward the true laws of nature. The real cold, hard truth is that such “laws” are merely ever-evolving human constructs. And the interpretation of those constructs is always subject to debate. As the fight over one biomass power plant in the mountains of North Carolina was making clear, everyone believes “the science” is on their side.
