ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT II

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT II is a traveling museum exhibition, the purpose of which is 1.) to recognize, document, and share the work of leading contemporary artists who chose to focus their work on global as well as local environmental issues; and 2.) to heighten public awareness and concern about the intentional or unintentional consequences of human action or inaction, through the power of this art.  It grew out of ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT I which traveled to ten venues coast-to-coast from 2013 to 2016.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT II is scheduled to travel to eight venues from 2019 to 2022 with the premiere in St. Petersburg, Florida on August 23 during the height of the hurricane season which, needless to say, has been on a volatile upswing corresponding to climate change in recent years.

MAHB is pleased to announce that exhibiting artists will be submitting essays about their environmental artwork throughout the course of the exhibition tour and will be published in the MAHB Blog series.

To produce ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT II, Curator David J. Wagner, Ph.D., drew upon various artists who exhibited work in ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT I, plus two new artists.  Together these form a range of top-tier professionals whose masterpieces are not only pictorially hard-hitting, but also ideologically compelling to the point where they possess the power to propel concern about the environment in the age in which we live. Exhibiting artists include:
