In the US, who is still taking action?

As federal policies and actions fall behind, and in many cases reverse course, in the U.S. some tribal, state, regional and local governments are stepping up. Which ones are stepping up and what actions are they taking? The map below shares the actions being taken by subnational entities across the U.S. regarding climate change. More information about the map and the actions being taken can be found through Climate Interactive.

Subnational action is not limited to mitigating climate change. Safer States, a network of diverse environmental health coalitions and organizations has been tracking and pushing for subnational action to regulate toxic chemicals. Check out the Safer States website (saferstates.com) to see what, if any, policies your state has adopted and to track those that are currently being proposed.
