Nate’s most recent work has focused on how we navigate through COVID-19 and, in the face of an increasing likelihood of serious economic hardship, options for human well-being and social stability.
Nate Hagens is the founder and Director of the Institute for the Study of Energy and our Future (ISEOF) and is also the co-founder of the Systemic Economic Response Initiative. He holds a PhD in Natural Resources from the University of Vermont and a Masters Degree in Finance with Honors from the University of Chicago. Previously he was President of Sanctuary Asset Management and a Vice President at the investment firms Salomon Brothers and Lehman Brothers. He curates and teaches the interdisciplinary seminar “Reality 101 – A Survey of the Human Predicament” at the University of Minnesota. Nate speaks and consults globally on the ‘big picture’ systems view of humanity’s collective challenges.
He has been meeting with civil society and influential members of the US congress about how to strengthen society, and how to strategically approach top down and bottom up solutions, and where the two can meet.The views and opinions expressed through the MAHB Website are those of the contributing authors and do not necessarily reflect an official position of the MAHB.
