Scientists Warning Europe sent a letter to the Prime Minister in support of Dr. James Hansen’s letter to him from last week.

The letter is endorsed by 20 top scientists and academics including Sir David King and Professor Pier Vellinga the first vice chairman of the IPCC. It is also signed by Professor Bill Ripple the lead author of the last two Scientists Warnings to humanity in 2017 and 2019 (signed by over 15,000 and 11,000 respectively when they were published).

We ask prime minister Johnson to emulate Sir Winston Churchill’s example, to step up and lead the World in the fight against Climate Change. We ask him to write himself into the history books by protecting the future of our children and we put him on notice that this is the last chance for action and it is occurring on his watch.

Finally we urge him to seek the much earlier net zero target of 2030 in line with the majority of councils in the country which have declared a climate emergency.
