“Inexcusable’ is an action piece done at Culture Lab, NY during the exhibition of Pietrapiana’s climate change works on paper. The artist wrote over and over again, arguments made by politicians and businessmen that either deny or minimize the urgency of the climate crisis, resulting in an unreadable rectangle of cursive text on different tones of graphite. The writing is on the wall.

Inexcusable is part of The Nation’s “Artistic Dispatches from the Frontline of Resistance”.

Originally from Buenos Aires, Cristián Pietrapiana lives and works in New York City. He has been awarded the Sheldon Berg Award (USA), selected by the City of New York to do a temporary mural, and participated in the Learning Through Art Program of the Guggenheim Museum (NYC), the Chashama Residency Program (Pine Plains, N.Y.), and the Space Residency in Long Island City (New York, N.Y.).
