Marine biologists are working diligently to help restore Hawai‘i’s coral reefs and enhance their ability to withstand an ever-warming ocean. Yet these efforts will likely be doomed unless all citizens reduce local stressors to our reefs, including run-off of silt and fertilizers, poor sewage disposal, and overfishing. Everyone shares the kuleana to save our coral reefs. In this October 26, 2022 webinar, Dr. Mark Hixon shares the threats to Hawai‘i’s coral reefs, but also specific actions that we all can take to help steward these critical resources.
