Greetings to the MAHB Community,

What a month this has been. As predicted, human population numbers hit 8 billion, and ironically, this coincided with the 10th anniversary of World Vasectomy Day. Then there was COP27 (with at least an agreement on a loss and damage fund) and the festive season with its usual shopping madness is upon us, too. We had asked our members if it has to be that way so we dedicated a special page to this issue. As a result, this month’s round-up is a bit longer than usual (and if that leads to more reading than shopping, great).

So, check out what’s happening: Visit our dedicated pages on 8bn people and counting and how to celebrate the festive season without mindless consumption. Cheer on responsible men and the 10th anniversary of World Vasectomy Day (WVD) with events throughout November, culminating in a 24-hour global celebration on December 2 on Facebook Live.

Also, join a discussion on November 29 with Artist Meredith Nemirov about her work with the Think Resilience course by the Post Carbon Institute and how this has affected her studio practice.

Read this month’s blogs and resources, including letters from Paul Ehrlich in support of WVD and from Paul Raven to the misguided editors of The Washington Post. Hear from media organizations calling on world leaders to act.
